Why Do Good Things Happen To Bad People

➵ "Why do good things happen to bad people?" I got a message from a girl the other day asking for some words of encouragement. She was looking around seeing people that have cheated and treated others so badly and have what seems like the "dream life." I can't tell you how many times in my life I have felt this exact way. When I was modeling, I felt like this constantly. I wasn't selling my soul for fame and fortune, didn't deny my conscience for my dream, and was always the "odd man out." I would go to bed at night just wondering why the Lord had not brought me more "clean jobs" because I was remaining obedient to Him. It literally boggled my mind for I knew He had the power to do so, but He chose not to. When I was waiting on the one, keeping myself pure, I had to endure countless lonely nights. I had to watch others "appear" to have all of the fun going out on their romantic dates, while I stayed at home and watched movies with my mom.

Do you see how the devil likes to trick our minds into believing that if you lived like the world, you would have what you desired? He wants you to believe that God is against you rather than for you. Some may appear to have it all because their portion is in this life. (Psalm 17:14) Do you really want your portion in this life which is just for a time or do you want your rewards in heaven with the Father for all eternity? They may appear to be having all of the fun for a time and season, but after that comes judgment. (Hebrews 9:27) There is always a cost to sin. God is long-suffering, but He isn't light on sin. There are consequences for disobeying Him.

I don't know why the Lord God is making you wait, but I know that it will be worth the wait. I also know His heart. He is more interested in making you more like Him than He is moving prematurely and giving you what you want. Some things can only be learned in the seasons of waiting. When our hearts long for something, He wants our hearts to crave Him even more. Instead of looking around at others, keep your eyes fixated on God. "You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You." (Isaiah 26:3) God's got a wonderful plan for your life, much better than one you could ever dream up yourself. Be patient and let Him unfold it before your very eyes. ➵ 💕 #soulchaser
