Your Life Jacket Is The Word Of God

➵ Growing up, my family used to go canoeing for a summertime activity. We had a lot of fun doing this together. My sister would joke around and say it was our "family bonding time." My dad likes to think of every possible scenario, so he gathered us together to advise us in on a few (or several) things. His main point was a safety plan if we tipped over. My mom was assigned to be responsible for me and my dad would be responsible for my sister. My sister and I couldn't quit laughing "inside" at the seriousness of my dad, however, we humored him by acting like we were listening intently. Well.....long story short, we tipped over. There was a strong current that day that caused all of our belongings to scatter everywhere and it pulled us all underwater. I recall being underwater for a few seconds thinking, "how am I going to get out of this?" Then, all of a suddenly I felt arms swiftly pulling me up above water. It was my mom, just like my dad had said.

Have you ever felt like your life was being pulled by a current underwater and all you kept trying to do is just get above water so you could breath?! "My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber." (Psalm 121:2-3) Friend, the Lord might allow you to go underwater, but He will not let you drown. Just like my mom's arms swiftly came to grab me, the Lord's arms are not too short where they cannot save you. (Isaiah 59:1) That which was meant to drown you, can be used to make you more like the image of Jesus Christ. The Lord will NOT give you more than you can bear with HIS strength. We are to depend upon Him, not in what we can do. It is Christ in us the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27) Your life jacket is the Word of God. Cling to it and stay afloat. God sees you and help is on the way!! ➵  #soulchaser
