Cling To The Promise Keeper

➵ I was reading about Abraham the other day and noticed something I had missed all of these years. Maybe I didn't "miss" it, but rather, maybe I wasn't pierced with it as strongly as I was this time. The words really spoke to my spirit and I was moved. I always love that truth about the Bible, it SPEAKS for it is "living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword." (Hebrews 4:12) Abraham was told he would be the "father of many nations," yet at about 100 years old, his wife Sarah was still barren. "In hope he believed against hope, that he should be the father of many nations..... No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what He had promised." (Romans 4:18-21) This witness of scripture is why I admire Abraham's faith so much and I pray to have faith just like him.

Abraham's faith actually INCREASED as he waited, growing even stronger. He didn't waver at the promise of God or allow himself to get filled with unbelief and doubt even though by human reasoning this was quite insane and highly impossible..... BUT GOD. Abraham even gave glory to God in the waiting. How did he do that? He BELIEVED in who God is and in His immutable (unchanging) character. "And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him." (Hebrews 11:6) He didn't keep his eyes on his circumstances but on HIS GOD and trusted that He who had promised, would most certainly bring the promise to pass.

May each one of us strive to have faith like Abraham, putting our complete trust in the One who can't break a promise. May we trust solely in our God, knowing that He will do everything He said He will do, but in His perfect time, His perfect way, and in His perfect brilliance. Time doesn't affect the promise, but our unbelief can. Let's be ones that cling to the Promise Keeper and not in our own human understanding. His ways are not our ways and I am so glad they are not. His ways are far better. Be one that waits on the LORD expectantly and patiently because you know without a doubt the promise is coming!!! ➵ #soulchaser
